An article posted on materia.nl talks about an indestructible spray from LineX. It is applicable to almost any surface. LineX is pure polyurea, which is free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other harmful toxins. Because of the absence of VOCs and toxins the LineX protective spray is safe for the environment. The spray is so effectively strong in fact that the walls of the Pentagon is coated with it to defend against explosions. According to the article I found on materia.nl, “a wall coated with the spray should be able to withstand a blast twenty times stronger than an ordinary wall.”
LineX has the ability to be sprayed on to materials, which makes it much more easier to apply than past protective practices, like armored plates for example. I’m not sure if LineX is even comparable to metal plating armor, or Kevlar but, to protect something with metal plates, the plates would have to be custom made to fit whatever they are being applied to. However, LineX can be sprayed to easily form to the desired object. On top of that it is much more cost efficient. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing LineX in the near future used to protect all sorts of things from military items to smartphones.
